Frequently Asked Questions

The Practice Within is a one-on-one clinical mentorship program for early-career acupuncturists and advanced acupuncture students who want to deepen their clinical presence, strengthen treatment skills, and build a sustainable, values-driven acupuncture practice. It is ideal for practitioners who prioritize nuance, integrity, and long-term growth over quick fixes or social media performance.

No. This is not a continuing education course, certification program, or clinical supervision. It is a personalized acupuncture mentorship designed to support reflective clinical practice, case-based learning, and individualized guidance tailored to real-world needs.

Mentorship sessions are personalized and may focus on:

  • Clinical reasoning and reflective treatment planning
  • Patient communication and therapeutic presence
  • Practice structure, workflow, and ethical boundaries
  • Sustainable business decisions aligned with your values
  • Case discussion and thought partnership on clinical scenarios

All sessions are conducted remotely via Google Meet or phone to accommodate practitioners across different regions. Sessions may be transcribed for reference unless otherwise requested. Format can be selected at the time of booking.

The core acupuncture mentorship includes one private 60-minute session per month for three months. Mentees also receive optional monthly reflection prompts and one email or voice memo check-in between sessions.

There are no mandatory assignments. However, optional reflection prompts are offered to support clinical integration and encourage personal insight and professional growth.

Mentees may continue with ongoing mentorship, take a break, or move into a new phase of advanced mentorship. Those who complete six or more months and demonstrate clinical maturity may be invited into The Practice Embodied: Dry Needling Pathway, which includes hands-on clinical training.

The Clinical Extension: Dry Needling Intensive is a by-invitation-only pathway that includes in-person training, recorded modules, and live feedback. It focuses on anatomy, safety, palpation, and technique integration. Eligibility is based on consistent participation, demonstrated clinical readiness, and alignment with the mentorship’s values. Participation does not result in certification or credentialing.

This mentorship is not affiliated with licensing boards but can support professional development. Mentees who complete three or six months of mentorship may request a professional reference or letter of recommendation, based on consistent participation and demonstrated growth.

A minimum of 48 hours’ notice is required to reschedule a session. Missed sessions or late cancellations result in forfeiture to maintain the integrity of the mentorship space and respect both parties’ time.

Yes. One email or voice memo check-in per month is included for questions, updates, or reflections. Responses are typically provided within 48 hours on weekdays.

Payment is due prior to the first session. Mentorship fees are non-refundable once a new month begins, as your session time and support are held just for you. If circumstances arise that require pausing or shifting the schedule, we’ll work together within those boundaries to find a respectful solution.
