Philosophy of Practice

by Sou Christy Kim, L.Ac., Ph.D., Dipl.OM.
Founder & Lead Acupuncturist, Trinity Acupuncture
Mentor, The Practice Within

I believe healing happens in the space between technique and presence — in how we meet the person in front of us, not just what we do. Every acupuncture session is an opportunity to be fully present, to listen closely, and to respond with clarity and care.

Every patient deserves to feel seen — not like a number, and not like a protocol. That calls for structure instead of chaos, boundaries that protect against burnout, and a commitment to excellence without ego.

We don’t just needle points. We meet people where they are. We make space for the medicine to work by offering calm attention and steady hands.

Even the most ordinary moment can carry meaning when approached with presence.

Mentorship Vision

The Practice Within was created for the thoughtful, committed practitioner who wants to grow without over-performing.

In today’s world, many new acupuncturists feel pressured to build a social media presence before they’ve had time to build clinical confidence. Social media can be a powerful tool — but it’s not the only one. A practice can also grow through relationships, word of mouth, consistent care, and strong clinical foundations. That’s how I built mine.

This is a clinical mentorship for acupuncturists seeking a sustainable practice — one that reflects their values, energy, and integrity. It’s for those who may not see themselves reflected in the loudest voices online, but know they have something meaningful to offer.

I created this mentorship because it’s what I needed early on: a space to ask honest questions, respect the medicine, and build something lasting without losing myself along the way.

This space is for practitioners and students who value depth over performance, and intention over burnout and overextension.
It’s for those who care deeply about the medicine and want support in building a practice that feels true and sustainable — without needing to be loud or everywhere to be effective.
